The lovely, deep valley of 'Iao features the 'Iao Needle, a natural rock pinnacle presiding over the 'Iao stream and surrounded by the walls of the Pu'u Kukui Crater. Once used as a natural altar, the 2,250-foot stone pillar covered in green, is a basaltic core that has survived eons of swirling water.

Starting Point: From the Airport N, Exit airport and continue to first traffic light by Costco. Continue on Dairy Road and at the fifth traffic light by First Assembly of God Church, turn left onto Mokulele Highway 350. Follow Mokulele Highway 350 approximately five miles to Alanui Ke Ali'i. Turn right at the traffic light onto Alanui Ke Ali'i and follow to the next traffic light. Make a right onto South Kihei Road and Maui Coast Hotek will be the second property on the right hand side. The hotel is approximately fifteen miles from the airport.
