Marostica is a cozy medieval town completely encircled by the walls of its castles, which appears designed more for decoration than defence. Entering in Piazza Castello, the first impression is to be in a historical and magical world. From the ruined Upper Castle on top of the hill, the walls run down to enfold the little town below, where a gigantic chessboard lays out in the main square.
