Starting Point: Peretola Airport SE, By car from FLR-Florence Airport enter autostrada A1 direction of Rome and exit at Florence South. Drive along Via Marco Polo then across the Arno river and turn left at the traffic lights. Continue straight along downstream with Arno river on your left for about 5 km or 3 miles. Turn right at the traffic lights into Viale Giovanni Amendola move to the left lane and at the next traffic lights turn left twice. At the big stone tower turn right drive along the riverside until Piazza Cavalleggeri. This is a restricted traffic area from here-Z.T.L. note the big white sign allowing access to the hotels and Hotel Balestri. Drive along Corso dei Tintori at the traffic lights drive into the narrow road opposite on your left Via Vagellai and you will be in Piazza Mentana where Hotel Balestri is located. By train from Santa Maria Novella Station take bus number 23 in direction Sorgane and get off at first stop on the river Le Grazie which is just in front of the hotel.
